About our Team
Drs. Mitul and Kavita Amin DDS
Both Dr. Mitul Amin and Dr. Kavita Amin are Southern California natives, having grown up in the Diamond Bar/Pomona area. Dr. Mitul Amin graduated from Diamond Bar High School, attended University of California, Irvine and graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kavita Salvi graduated from Troy High School, University of the Pacific and also from the University of Colorado, Denver, School of Dental Medicine. Both doctors worked together In El Paso, Texas where they became accustomed to treating patients of all ages, even children from their first tooth.
Whereas Dr. Kavita Amin took time off to enjoy being a mother, Dr. Mitul Amin’s commitment to providing quality dental care to all of his patients allowed him to quickly become a leader within their dental organization by being promoted to State Dental Director of Texas. As State Dental Director he trained and mentored new dentists, instilling in them the same commitment to quality care that he provided daily.
Both doctors have been consistently recognized by patients and staff for their ability to show compassion and make patients feel at ease. They are comfortable in all facets of dentistry and pride themselves on the ability to explain treatment in a way that is easy for all of their patients to understand. They welcome and embrace questions and conversations and their top priority is to make you comfortable in the office while providing the highest quality dental care.
Both Dr. Amin’s are looking forward to being back in Southern California and raising their family where they call home.
I have been working here at Center of Modern Dentistry since April 2014. I went to College for Dental Assisting and did my externship at Loma Linda University, then worked with some of the professors there for years. I have been working in the dental field for a total of 4 years now. I love working with teeth and most of all making people smile. I am a mother of two children, a boy and a girl, ages 5 and 10. I am born and raised here in California. Left for awhile and lived in the Midwest for a few years. In 2014 moved back to California to be close to my friends and family. I definitely missed the weather here. I love working in this field and want to continue working in it. In the future I would love to go further with my dental education and become a hygienist one day.
I am a born and raised San Diegan. As most San Diegans I grew up a military brat. My father served 30years in the US Navy and another 10 as a Merchant Marine. I am the youngest of 3 and the only girl. So, you can say that I am slightly spoiled. Thus far in my life my biggest accomplishment is my family. I am married with 2 beautiful daughters 16 and 11 years old. I like to keep my kids busy. I don’t want them growing up with solely video games and social media. My husband and I do our best to keep us as unplugged as we can be, by doing family adventures like camping, beach days, bike rides, or board game days at home.
They are the sole reason why I do what I do. I wanted a career in this field, but I also didn’t want the overhead of being in charge. Being a Registered Dental Hygienist has provided me a great way to truly balance family and career. I gradated Hygiene school in 2007 with both my kids by side and my head up high. I love working with people, and helping them understand the value and importance of their oral health. I’ve worked here for five years. It’s great working with a doctor that sees collaborative efforts of the hygiene department are equally important in a practice. It’s also important to me that I give back to the community. I realize that I have an important trade, and I can easily share it to those who are not as fortunate. I do this by getting into the local schools and teach the kids how to take care of their teeth at a young age. I’ve been lucky and blessed that this career has been more than good to me.
Dawn graduated from SJVC with an Associate Degree in Hygiene. She is a member of various Dental Societies and also enjoys study clubs for continuing education, which shows her passion for the dental field and dedication to lifelong learning.
She has extensive experience in Non Surgical Periodontal Therapy. This means she has helped the most periodontally challenged patients, as well those who are medically compromised. Her main concern is making sure patients are comfortable, and that they understand their options.
Dawn is active in local schools, and often provides dental education in the classroom about health and nutrition.
Dawn loves working with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. She has been a team captain since 2004! She also works with Give Kids a Smile, LA Care Harbor Health Clinic and CDA Cares Pomona, providing care to the under-served in SoCal.
Dawn has been with us since 2013, and we are proud to have her on the team!
Dawn is married with 3 wonderful kids, and loves reading, camping and volunteering.
Graciela, Front Office Coordinator
My name is Graciela Diaz, I have been a assistant since 2008. I have worked here for about four years. I started as a back office assistant and now I am her front office coordinator. I am from Inglewood, CA I moved to San Bernardino eleven years ago. I recently got married, and I’m looking forward to having kids in the future. My family is my priority, and I try to spend as much time with them as I can. I love to try different things, go different places. My goal is to experience many things so that one day I can share them with my kids. I truly enjoy doing what I do. Working with people and helping them have that great smile they have always wanted, makes me happy.
Carmen, Assistant/Front Office Coordinator
I have worked here since February 2015. I have been an assistant since 2009 and became a registered dental assistant in 2014. I enjoy helping people feel better about their smiles and ultimately about themselves.
I’m 23 and I have one dog who occupies my time when not at work. I was born and raised in Upland, California; trips up to Mt. Baldy are a must all year around. I’ve been interested in the dental field since I was in fourth grade, and I am beyond excited that I can say I’ve accomplished one of the many things I want to do in life.
I attended American Career College in Ontario, California; completing the 9 month course in 6 months with a 4.0 GPA. I enjoyed my time spent there, learning from many different teachers with each a different experience to teach. I try and visit to let them know how well they are teaching and what I have learned and put to use.
I am always looking in to the future and with that one day I hope to become a dental hygienist and maybe even run an office of my own.
